Apt-rpm for RedHat users and others
Ok this is nothing big, nothing new it's just a short collection with
links and stuff about the apt port for rpm. Most of this stuff is
for RedHat user cause I've to work with RedHat in the office.
All of the rpms I've build are in productional use on two servers and a
few clients, anyway I won't provide any warranty for anything.
So be sure that you know what you're doing!
Whenever you've questions, suggestions or you've found a bug or a
problem relatet to my stuff feel free to write me a mail sven@timegate.de
Be aware that this website is essentially dead!
A big "Thank You" goes out to Gustavo Niemeyer for his work on
aptrpm, to Matthias Saou for his work with freshrpms.net and all others
who helped to make apt more usefull ;)

Conectiva Linux 10
Someone asked for a sources.list entry on a fast european mirror, so here
is the one I use for my CL 10 boxes:
rpm [cncbr] ftp://ftp.tiscali.nl/pub/mirror/conectiva 10/i386 001 002 003 extras
rpm [cncbr] ftp://ftp.tiscali.nl/pub/mirror/conectiva/atualizacoes 10/i386 updates
SuSE Linux 9.1 and some older
On
ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt/
you can find several apt enabled archives for the SuSE Linux Distribution including add-on
rpm packages like apt-rpm and the whole
http://packman.links2linux.de/
packages.
An Apt-rpm binary for SuSE 9.1 can be found here:
ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt/SuSE/9.1-i386/RPMS.suser-rbos/
I use the following sources.list entry on my SuSE Linux 9.1 system:
rpm ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt/ SuSE/9.1-i386 update security base packman packman-i686
Note: With this sources.list entry and apt-rpm it's easy to upgrade your Personal Download
Edtion to a full (excluding closed source apps) SuSE Linux 9.1 Professional.
For all other SuSE 9.x distributions you can find apt-rpm binarys from Richard if you replace the "9.1" in the URL
with your version. Hope that helps you a little bit kids. ;)
What I've done
I unpacked the latest apt rpm from the Conectiva Linux snapshot
tree and modified the "BuildRequires" in the spec file so that the
package names for the required packages fit for the RedHat rpms. For
example the popt-devel package from Conectiva is included into the
package popt on a RedHat system. As a special bonus I've included my
sources.list file with a few freely avaible apt archives for RH 7.3.
The new spec file for the 0.5.5cnc6 release is mostly taken from Matthias Saou
So not a big deal =)
BTW: Conectiva Linux is very
nice Brasilian Linux Distribution and they're using apt by default :)
